Central Drive south of Hwy. 183 near Pennington Field

Speed limit is 40, but there is a small school zone in the middle. If you are heading north on Central from Pipeline Rd., police are parked almost every day around 2:30 – 4:00 in a strip mall on the right side (east) of Central Dr., just past Schumac. I drive by there every single day, and 90% of the time, they have someone pulled over. They catch folks speeding through the school zone – either they didn’t slow down from the 40 mph speed limit fast enough, or they sped up to try and make it through the traffic light(s).

Comments:
The police are parked there to enforce the speed limit in a clearly marked school zone. There are big signs and flashing lights. If you are doing 40 mph in an active school zone you are going 20 mph over the speed limit. That does NOT constitute a speed trap!

This is not a speed trap, it's an idiot trap and amazingly it continues to work. Here's a brainstorm for you ..... SLOW DOWN in the school zone !
