This is and has always been a speed trap. Ever since the invention of the radar gun this has and will always be a speed trap. There are 3 speed limit changes in less than a half mile on a down hill grade.......does that sound like a speed trap to you. Lester, WV is a speed trap.....Beware!!!

WV 54 through Lester is a speed trap for certain. The town has a couple of unmarked vehicles, one being a Blue SUV and a grey cruiser and a blue crusier with blue lights but no police markings. It's 45 MPH approaching the town traveling south from Beckley or north from Mullins, but as soon as you hit the top of the hill you best slow down! Then it's 35 through Lester on 54 and 25 on the side roads, and if you hit the school zone at opening or dismissal it;s 15 MPH and they love to nail you going through the zone most of all. Truckers beware, no Jake Brakes allowed!
