Chester Ca hwy 36 east to A13 Walker memorial hwy
Heavy CHP enforcement by radar east on hwy 36 from Chester Ca for the next 3 miles to hwy A13 Walker Memorial Hwy. Chp uses rest area out of town as a parking spot along with the left side of the hwy A13 intersection near the landfill station.Speed limit posted at 55. Westbound traffic has a hard time staying under 60 mph due to the down hill slope of the highway coming west toward Chester Ca.

The grade on the downhill slope westbound from A13 is not so severe as to require constant breaking. If you enter the grade doing just under 55 and basically take your foot off the gas, you will have no problem staying within the speed limit. The problem is, it is a beautiful, sweeping "s" curve that brings out the NASCAR in most people. The speed limit through most of Hwy 36 from Tehama county through Plumas county and into Lassen county is 55 all the way except for slowdown at curves. The CHP simply know where people like to let their inner racer come out, and take advantage of that fact.
