Chester Rd

Chester’s Speed Limit is 30 while all other roads around it are at least 45. Cops sit between Donnelson and on new subdivision roads just north of I-40 sometimes catching Larry Anderson Lane traffic going either north or south depending on their mood. This is an unfair speed limit as the roads joining it are equally as curvy and have as many driveways! It’s very easy to continue going 45 mph after leaving one of the other roads. I tend to fall asleep at 30 mph!

Comments:
I am one of those cops who work in the area of Chester Road in Arlington. First of all, I do not stop anyone on Chester for speeding unless they are going at least 45mph. Even so, Chester Rd. IS completely residential, as well as curvy and unlit at night. I have often been nearly run off the road, especially at night by drivers going less than 45 around those curves. And think about this... would you want drivers whizzing by YOUR driveway at 45+ mph? No, Chester Rd. is definitely NOT a speed trap!
