This has become a license checkpoint. If you should attempt to turn left or right and not pass through the checkpoint, they will chase and arrest you.

Yeah, when you turn away from the Police to avoid having to deal with them, it is called "eluding" which is illegal. If you don't have anything to hide, then do not avoid the police. The main reason this has become a good checkpoint is because there is so much room on the sides of the street to work, getting flattened by some turd that has no business with a license becomes less of an issue. It is always funny to hear someone gripe about law enforcement officers actually enforcing the law.
