There are 4 officers patroling a one horse town. You would not believe the facility called city hall. It is obvious that there is no city revenue except for traffic violations. Yes, I was guilty of a couple of infractions, but I was charged with alluding an officer, which was just a trumped up charge to top off the cake with another $240. The city attorney advised me to plea no contest to all charges in order to receive a deferred sentence in order to keep it off my driving and insurance record; which I did. I am the parent of a 24 yr old daughter that got caught in this unfair money making scheme. We paid around $800.00, we each lost a days work and drove a total of around 500 miles in order to appear at the hearing. Local businesses are very upset because of unfair treatment of citizens passing through their town. The judge told me to stay away from Wapanuca! Ain’t this great for the local businesses.
