The Quick Trip store on the corner serves as a "substation", which basically means law enforcement personnel go there to refill drinks and grab snack items. Additionally, a high number of police officers from the Columbia Police Department, Missouri Highway Patrol, and Boone County Sherriff’s Department reside in many of the subdivisions on the outer edge of town off of Clark Lane-they frequent the area just coming to and from work.
