I was a former editor at the Leesburg Commercial (15 minutes away) and can tell you this is still a speed trap town trying to generate revenue from unsuspecting travelers. It’s a pathetic little town with two convenience stores, one stop light and a dying antiques store. Less than 1,000 residents. They still have a quickly graduated 55-45-35 mph setup and will nail you if they can. I went through there 11/12 and Gomer (I swear they only have one cop) was sitting on the right-hand side of the road aimed at people going north. Go slow and you can get out of this sad little town in 10 minutes.
