Common St. South of McNeese St. and North of Tank Farm Rd.

The stretch of Common from Petro Point Dr. to Tank Farm Rd. is under heavy construction, justifying the 35MPH speed limit for the safety of construction workers and due to the unpredictable quality of the road surface. However, though the speed limit picks up from 35MPH to 45MPH at McNeese St. as you’re headed south on Common, it reduces to 35 again just past Contour Dr. (about 1500 ft. down from McNeese St.), and remains so only for southbound traffic for about 5000 ft. down to Petro Point Dr. and beyond. At least 4 law enforcement entities like to hide their units behind the safety barrels just short of Dolby Rd. during the day, ‘policing’ an area that, in my opinion, is in little need of ‘speed safety enforcement’. Do we really need a 5k ft. ’45MPH-35MPH safety buffer’?? It’s strictly a ridiculous revenue generation trap.
