County Trunk 208 near SR 16/ I-95

Saint Augustine, FloridaMay 07, 20080 Comments

As you turn off SR 16 onto CR 208 and proceed in a westward direction, the speed shifts from 35mph to 45mph for the next mile or so. The troopers usually set up behind some trees at the entrance to a subdivision and clock you coming at them. The problem is that it looks like the speed should be 55 and the tendency is to speed up once you get past the fast food/motel area.
Another version of this is for the eastbound traffic on cr 208, coming off a 55 mph limit to 45mph then abruptly 35 mph when you get near the intersection of 208/16. The troopers hide in the entrance of a trailer park and get you if you don’t slow to 35mph soon enough.
Your best bet is to slow to 35 when you come around the big curve and pass the entrance to a development.
