Cuyamaca St near Rio Seco School

Santee, CaliforniaMar 12, 20102 Comments

Sheriff motorcycle cops sit in front of the district office (school zone,) usually in front of a parked car, and step out into the street as you come up the rear of the parked car. There are often 2 of these nice men meeting their daily quota in the mornings. Sometimes they sit across the street in the business centers’ driveway, just before the bridge and walk out to stop you.

Comments:
The area you describe is a school zone for K-8. The Sheriff is ONLY there when children are present. There are also hundreds of cars trying to drop off children that need to get in and out of the parking lot. Going 40+MPH @ 8:00 AM deserves a ticket. It's not like you can't see all the traffic and children.

I agree - I WISH Santee Sheriff's Deparment would post officers near OUR school on the SOUTH side of Santee - Prospect - what don't you people understand about SCHOOL ZONE????? I NEVER drive over 22-25 in the Rio Seco or any other school zones when kids are visible, yet I get honked at and flipped off all the time. It may be that this is a speed trap for revenue - but SO BE IT if it keeps the kids safe. Thr moron speeders trying to get to Starbucks sure don't give a hoot.
