Dancing School on Bartholomew St.

Peabody, MassachusettsJan 05, 20102 Comments

Street is rated at 20 mph which, to me, is ridiculously slow at some parts of the street ..especially when you have residents of the street tailgating when you try to abide by the limit. The cruiser is in the dancing school parking lot on most mornings when you come around the bend after taking a right onto Bartholomew Street from Lynn St…..Also when coming down Bartholomew Street after getting onto it from Lynnfield St…crusier likes to park itself on side street right before you start heading down small hill …always same cop too.

Comments:
Please take this from someone who lives off of Bartholomew St and not someone who is using it as a pass through. The residents have asked that this road be patrolled as people have been "clocked" going 75 mph down this narrow, winding street. The posted speed limit is 20 mph through the narrow sections, where the houses are basically sitting right at the edge of the street. There are no sidewalks here for the children to walk on, or a resident to get from their driveway to their door, or for someone to walk their dog without worrying about their own safety. The remainder of the street is posted at 30mph. There have been multiple accidents through the years as well as pedestrians hit by cars on this street. So, please take the extra three minutes it takes regardless of who is tailgating you.

Fortunately for those who live in the area, setting the speed limit is not up to the complainant. Weather its 20 or 80 miles per hours its what the law requires based on traffic studies done in the area. Just drive the posted speed and stop complaining about law enforcement simply doing what they are paid to do.
