Dey Road (County 614) approaching Plainsboro

Cranbury, New JerseyApr 06, 20113 Comments

Coming from US-130 to Plainsboro, the road widens out about 1 mile and a half in, and the natural tendency is to speed up to 50-55 MPH, although official limit is 45 MPH. This is a cash-cow for Cranbury as non-Cranbury residents are usually caught. I used to live near this stretch and would see the cops pulling people over every day at almost any time of day, but especially toward evening.

Comments:
You are talking about the area where there is a curve and the road is surrounded by woods. It's between a windy section and a semi residential section; in both sections people tend to obey the limit better. But the woodsy section is very wide open with no houses on it, so actually I find most people go 55-65 when there is no one blocking. I indeed have seen a lot of people pulled over here.

As I explained in another Cranbury posting- Cranbury gets ZERO dollars from tickets. All ticket revenue goes directly to Plainsboro, as that is what Cranbury uses for the court system. So any speed traps in Cranbury are not at all set up for money.
