Diamond Bar Road

This is blatant highway robbery. Speed has been reduced from 45 to 25 for no other reason other than taking money from tourists and locals from the Indian reservation. I received a $300 ticket and will lose my license because of the sheriff that inflated my speed from 45-55 to 60 mph and didn’t lower it on mph. No radar gun needed with this guy, he just uses observation.

same trap--i was coming out of the Grand Canyon west and the Skywalk over te canyon-the road was dirt then turns into a new nice two lane black road with fences on the side. one sign says 25mph in the middle of th desert- i did not see the sig and thought it was a ighway-no houses no schools and the Moojave county sheriif dept pulled me over for 67 in a 25mph zone--then he followed my wife, daughter and i for 20 some miles where he turned on the road back to kingman, AZ. We were frightened of him and felt harassed.

I have traveled this road a few times and know poeple who travel it every day and what you need to know is that the reason you need to drive it SLOW is because of the many, many busses of all sizes on it and all the sharp turns . Part of the reason the sheriff's dept. is there is because of all the dumb people who think they can drive it fast and end up in roll overs. The West Rim has around 3 000 people up there a day. That makes allot of trafic for a small road. I vote no. Not a trap.

We have lived in Dolan Springs, Az for 13 years. Since the Grand Canyon Skywalk opened 3 years ago we have seen the traffic grow by the thousands. People come from all over the world to see the Skywalk. Traffic has grown from a couple hundred cars a day to over three thousand cars a day in this area. Unfortunately, way to many think they're on a freeway, use no common sense and do not abide by the posted speed limits. "They are there for everyone's safety". We have many seniors in this area, they will pull out from side roads without even looking. These roads can be very hazardous. SLOW DOWN!

We were on vacation from east coast to Las Vegas and Grand Canyon. As others mentioned speed limit suddenly drops to 25mph in this section of the town. I was the only visible driver on the road coming back from Skywalk with my family. It was dark and most likely missed the speed posting. There was probably one small sign which no one would expect as speed limit is 55mph most of the way. I have excellent driving record and have not received any speeding tickets. If safety of locals are a concern, the town should put more speed signs. This is definitely a speed trap. This incident spoiled our vacation.

June 30, 2013 I was driving to the Grand Canyon SkyWalk for the last 2 hours from Las Vegas and stopped at Dolan Springs to get gas. 150 feet from pulling out from getting gas I was going around 40 mph behind a big gas truck and didn't see the only 25 mph sign that will be on this road for the next 49 miles. The 25 mph area only covers i would say 1/16th of a mile and it immediately goes up to 45 and then 55. I got stopped and he give me a 210 dollar ticket after I told him that he was giving out chicken S**t tickets and he was just trying to make money from people instead of fighting real crime. He came out and told me that " your driving might be ok to you in California but over here its different. you might run over some kids". Granted on paper he has got me but there is the law and then their is the spirit of the law in which it is intended and this speed sign is a gotcha tourist trap. After going to the SkyWalk we had to drive back to Dolan Springs to get back on the major highway and who do we see camping the exact location I was stopped with the only 25 mph sign I saw the whole time. If you get stopped make sure to give them hell.
