Driving NE on 199 about 1 mile from the Oregon border
Upon exiting the only tunnel on Hwy 199 between Crescent City, Ca. and Grants Pass, Oregon, the highway widens into 4 lanes and 65MPH. Shortly the road curves to eht left and narrows to two lanes and 55MPH. Before you have a real chance to slow to accomodate the decreased speed, a CHP has you in the radar.

The speed limit in this area is not 65. It is 55 along hwy 199 thru and past the oregon border. This being said watch out because it is down hill and you can easily go way over 55. If CHP is there and he usually is you will get sited. This is a very dangerous part of the road going either direction. Lots of accidents over a curvey wet road. Slow down not for ticket reason but for safety.
