Dry Creek Road near Lizard Head

Sedona, ArizonaMar 15, 20100 Comments

Patrol car sits on west side of Dry Creek Road, about 1 mile past Thunder Mountain Road. Near the cross streets of White Bear Rd and Dry Creek, there is a sign with the speed limit of 25 that displays how fast you’re going. Just past Thunder Mountain Road, the limit increases to 35. It is a gently undulating wide and nicely paved road with good visibility that leads to pricey homes, resorts, and trail heads. Dry Creek Road has a rural feel, so you would expect the speed limit to be at least 50 (or more) so traffic often moves along at a good clip. Expect to find a patrol car hiding in a pull-out for a trail head near lizard head or chimney rock trails with a radar gun. There is a lot of revenue to be made on this street.
