On the westbound approach to the Dumbarton bridge after exiting the toll plaza, the CHP has found a nice place to sit while trolling for speeders. Approximately 2 miles after the toll plaza, just before the KGO radio towers, you can frequently see a CHP cruiser sitting well off to the right of CA-84 on an access road leading out onto an earthwall. By the time you’re close enough to notice the car parked there, it’s more than 30 degrees off to the right of your direction of travel.

If you’re focused on the traffic in front of and behind you, it’s easy to get tunnel vision and not even notice the CHP cruiser as you fly past his position. Keep those eyes open and moving, especially as you approach the KGO towers!
