E Commercial Blvd. between Dixie Hwy and NE 15th Ave
Eastbound: Around 1540 E Commercial Blvd. just past McDonalds on the right (as your heading eastbound).
Westbound: NE 12th or 13th Ave, Past Pirhana Pat’s and just before approaching tracks before Dixie Hwy.
Noticed two deputies checking eastbound traffic yesterday (4/27/10). Today, I noticed pneumatic tubes across road suggesting a traffic survey is in place. Oakland Park seems to have a ‘heads-up’ on when FDOT is surveying specific spots and does selective speed enforcement just prior to FDOT survey.

You're so right with Oakland Park observing when FDOT is doing surveys. Result has some streets such as NE 38th ST having speed limits lowered to 25 MPH and NE 18th AVE below Commercial reduced from 35 to 30. Contact FDOT if you see any of this trickery in place.
As for this spot, they also tag westbound traffic just west of your aformentioned Pirhana Pat's at maybe the 1300 Block of E Commercial. About 2 weeks ago, I was travelling W on Commercial 3 MPH above the speed limit and they lasered me (but didn't stop me) from the Farm Store. In FL, anything below 5 MPH over the limit is a 'warning', but this demonstrates just how agressive Oakland Park is.
