E/W Jackson Street, E Clay, S Broad
Photo enforced “school speed zones” with little or no notice. Not intended to promote slow school driving; intended as revenue enhancement. Enforcement from 6:00 AM to 4:00 PM Monday through Friday. No prominent notice to help you check your speed. Snap! You get a $75 “civil penalty” notice in the mail a couple of days later. We got TWO notices on Jackson street in one afternoon’s visit to Thomasville to dine and shop. $150 plus pay online fee. Our photo opportunities were 702 East Jackson Westbound (near cemetery) and 636 West Jackson Southbound out of town (near old railroad depot). It’s our last visit to Thomasville. Thomasville is a true speed trap now.
