I regularly travel through Marengo.I was once stopped there & almost given a ticket for my sunglasses hanging on rear view mirror(hampering my vision?) I asked her(the officer) if her radar unit on her dash board was blocking her vision. No ticket was issued.From what i under stand ,officers are under orders to ticket for a 1m.p.h. violation! My way of getting back is not to spend a cent in Marengo. Even if given the $ i wouldn't spend it ther. I'd like to see everyone passing through Marengo refuse to spend any $ there. I'd also like Police Chief to explain his policies to the local businesses that would dry up due to the gestapo tactics. They do this @both ends of town. They also have a hiding spot on one of the side streets S. of railroad av.They are separated from R.R.av by the tracks but any W. bound traffic hits the dead end & must turn left & guess who's waiting when they turn?Yep! Marengo cops are a real classy bunch.
