Eastbound HWY 108, 1 mile east of Mono Lake Blvd (Via Este)
Speed limit begins at 45, increases to 50 for the passing lane. It’s a long passing lane, but a very short chokedown point (merge). Cop sits in the shadows on the ther side of 55mph sign and shoots back into merger point of passing lane. Very profitable spot, as most people speed up just before the merge.

There is no such road as "Mono Lake Blvd" off of Hwy 108. If the reference point is Via Este, this IS a problem area but NOT for tickets, it's a problem for accidents.
There have been 4 fatalities and 1 serious injury in 2009 at this intersection.
And so far, one death and one serious injury in 2010.
This is not a speed trap.
The cops are trying to keep it safe while Cal Trans tries to fix the problem.
