Eisenhower Parkway between I-280 and the railroad tracks
The Roseland PD uses a silver Honda Pilot SUV. It has no markings or roof mounted lights. It does have tinted windows and the police lights are hidden inside the top of the windshield, the front grille and the top of the rear window. They like to cruise up and down Eisenhower Parkway, blending in with the traffic and they pull over a LARGE amount of violators.
It’s one thing to use an unmarked Ford Crown Vic or Dodge Charger, but using non-traditional police cars like this Honda Pilot is nothing but a BIG revenue generator for the town. If you or I were to dress up as a police officer or modify our car with roof lights and “Police” on the door, we would get arrested for impersonating a police officer. Why then is it legal for the police to impersonate a civilian – driving a car with lights hidden in the grille and dark tinted windows???????
