End of Rt. 199 at Dugway gate

Actually, this eight mile stretch from the end of Johnson’s pass to the Dugway gate is usually not patrolled, but, at least three times a year, a massive campaign is organized by the UHP and the Tooele County Sheriff. In the early AM when multitudes of employees are arriving to enter Dugway’s main gate, at least 10 UHP officers will be waiting to ticket you. The speed limit is 60 mph on this stretch of two lane blacktop. They can remain until after dusk and ticket Dugway employees going home. This campaign stretches out to Rt. 36, through Rush Valley, and there are multiple hiding spots for police to hide. A radar detector is a mandatory equipment traveling these roads.
