Entering Kure Beach on US 421
Traveling Highway 421 South through Carolina Beach takes you to the town of Kure Beach. It has more police per capita than any other town. They are bored and there is plenty of time for them to sit and wait for the next person who is not watching and exceeds the 35 MPH speed limit. You can almost always find them at the CAMA public access area on the ocean side of Hwy 421 right at the town limits. After 11PM, they sit there in hopes of finding “probable cause” to stop you and run a sobriety check. Be Careful.
