This is definitely a speed trap. Why would a local police officer be lurking on the Interstate considering the Interstate barely touches the municipal boundary of the village he is supposed to be protecting? Wouldn’t this be the jurisdiction of the Illinois State Police (or possibly Pulaski County law enforcement)? Do people on the highway in any way represent a clear and present danger to the citizens of that village or is this merely a way of generating income for a middle-of-nowhere village of less than 500 people?
