The town of Talty annexed a small patch of I-20 in 2003 to gather revenue for its one man (part-time) police force. They have now ramped up their ticket writing to pay for his (now) full-time salary and a new police car, etc. There are only two people on salary in Talty. There is not even a town here. Court is held in nearby Forney, and the town meeting once a month is in a church sandwiched between some trailers and a cornfield. I live nearby and he has people pulled over continually. Speeding is one thing, but he writes 85+ mph tickets on locals here who have never driven over 65 in their lives. Watch out around exit 495, I-20 east of Dallas. Even watching out won’t help you though as the tickets the "Chief" writes have no basis in reality. Just prepare to be robbed.
