Farney Road near El paseo Street

The stretch of Farney between El paseo and Main St. there is always LCPD! Morning, afternoon, and evening they are just sitting there down one of the sidestreets or in a dirt parking lot where the Bex apts are in fact that is where they commonly stay, but watch the side roads! It is a community where a lot of old people live and they complain that traffic is going to fast, but the fastest i’ve ever gone on that street is 40 at max and that is still safe becuz there is never any traffic and besides i never see anyone outside of their home down that street i just think they are bored! WATCH OUT!

I travel through here a lot, generally staying on El Paseo Road, so it was hard for me to say whether or not there was a speed trap here or not. However, particularly when I go up in the afternoons toward Walgreens on El Paseo, I've seen at least three motorcycle cops. Usually in the parking lot of First Christian Church and/or in the parking lot of some day care center I believe that is located right behind the church. That said, being that I'm one that generally believes in traveling ten miles an hour over the speed limit (the so-called "New York driver", meaning downstate and Long Island, not upstate/Western NY where the villages are very strict with speed enforcement), I'm glad I found this site. One word of warning that I've heard from other students at New Mexico State University; the Doña Ana County Sheriff's Deputies often enforce traffic laws within the city limits. Much as the Las Cruces police can often be found enforcing freeway speed limits.
