FM 407 and Lantana Trail

Double Oak, TexasFeb 16, 20121 Comments

Approaching Lantana Trail on FM 407 from the east, you hit a stop light at the intersection. Since it is a 3 way intersection (no traffic coming from your left when you are turning right onto Lantana Trail) many people don’t make a complete stop to turn right when the light is red. This intersection is under the jurisdiction of Double Oak (according to the DO police chief), and a DO police car will park on the side of FM 407 just east of the intersection. If you don’t make a complete stop on red, you will be ticketed. A family member of mine received such a ticket during the day, although I have also seen the DO police car there late in the evening. So beware.

Comments:
The DO police are also writing tickets for speeding claiming this is a posted 40MPH limit. I cannot find a 40mph sign outside of the work zone. Even more confusing.
