Folsom Boulevard near Mercantile Drive
Traffic heading westbound Folsom blvd from Hazel will be greeted by a CHP patrol car or Motorcycle using LIDAR. The posted limit is 45mph but during the morning-ish hours drivers like to rush through at 50mph even 60mph ensuring a chat with the Revenue Officer holding the LIDAR gun. If they are in the patrol car, they like to park their cars in the parking lot entrance of the furniture store and aim the LIDAR gun out of the window.

Yes this certainly is a speed trap and a very good one. I have sustained three very expensive tickets in the last two years. One was for 40 in a 35 just before Hazel on Folsom Blvd and it cost me $274.00!! Don't press it. As soon as these modern CHP vehicles "see" you, you're busted. No need to slow down, just pull over. Too late. Not like the days of yore. Slow down! Give yourself more time.
