Ga 36 west coming into town Thomaston side.

You round a sharp curve and start downhill, all in a 55mph zone. The reduced speed zone ahead sign, the city limit sign and the 45 mph sign are all in a 400 foot stretch. The woodland police usually setup 1/2 mile ahead parked by a house. The problem/trap is that they shoot you with radar as you round the curve (55 zone) and claim that you are in the 45 mph zone. There is 450 feet of the 55mpg zone visible from the usual radar location.

Comments:
When driving through Woodland, Ga. beware of the speed sharply reducing from 55 to 45 to 35 and finally to 25 mph within a very short distance. The police are set up with radar to with issuing tickets. The police are defensive about their radar equipment being calibrated that morning. I had to drive back to Woodland for night court. Another driver appeared in court that same night for speeding. Court is held once a month. The arresting police officer reduced both driver's fines to $189 in a closed door session with the judge waiting for the final say of the arresting police officer and drivers pleading guilty. Drivers....beware the Woodland police are waiting on the side of the road or driving through that short speed zone with their radar on. It is hard to slow down from 55mph to 25mph in such a short distance.
