Gary Ave & Central Ave

Roselle, IllinoisMay 17, 20091 Comments

Saw a pedestrian standing on the grass by Fuji as I was southbound on Gary. Meanwhile, a Ferrari went flying by at probably 120 MPH. I get to the pedestrian and it turns out to be a cop with a radar gun. Up by the next light a cop pulls from the construction area on the east side of the street and pulls the Ferrari over. My detector never went off, so it may have been laser.

Comments:
I don't know how often it's a pedestrian clocking, but Roselle police are notorious for ticketing on this stretch of Gary- it's 4 lane divided, wide open, and a tempting place to get on it. There could be a safety rationale- Gary and North, just to the south is a very busy intersection. However, I rarely see police here except on Sunday mornings- when it's easiest to ticket. Roselle police have a well-earned reputation for being revenue collectors more than anything else.
