Geddes Road near Hill Street

Ann Arbor, MichiganFeb 13, 20061 Comments

Geddes Road from Hill St to the link with Huron Parkway: police cars park in the smaller side streets (Huntington, Appleway, Arlington, Dover Place). The area is hilly and has highly variable speeds posted [25/30/35, depending on where you are] in a very short stretch, so it’s easy to be a couple mph "over".

Comments:
This area has been a speed trap for at least the 47 years that I know of since I moved here in 1962. On the downhill part approaching Hill St. there is a sign saying braking required. That sign was put there in the 1960s after many citizen protests when officers stood with a radar gun on a tripod at the bottom of the hill at Hill St.
