Glassford Hill Road near Spouse or Long Look Drive

Prescott Valley, ArizonaMay 31, 20083 Comments

On Glassford Hill Rd, at both the Spouse Dr. and Long Look Dr. intersections, stationary red-light cameras are installed in the N-S (Glassford Hill Rd) direction. At all times, they are also doing speed enforcement with an 10 MPH tolerance for the 35 MPH limit. Operated by Redflex. A driver’s face blocked by the sun visor is a good defense – not worth their time if it’s not a "righteous bust." Radar only on some of the time, in-pavement timing coils active always.

Pretty much the entire City of Prescott Valley is one paved speed trap. Speed limits are unnecessarily low and enforced to the teeth. Many surrounding locals just stay away because it's so annoying to drive there. It's good to be safe, but the authorities have just made it ridiculous. Officials: re-consider. I won't go there unless I have to.

What makes this one of the worst speed traps along this road is that the speed drops from 45 to 35 without you realizing it. My GPS still states that the speed limit is 45 up until you cross over the light where the trap is set. I absolutely hate driving into Prescott Valley and go only when necessary. I currently have a ticket but don't expect me to pay it. First notice came in the mail and I haven't been around to accept the door ringer who frequents my house. As far as I'm concerned, a person needs to be physically handed the papers and options to tape or leave them on a doorstep as far as I'm concerned, shouldn't even be an option! That does not prove that the person was ever served.

If you look at the road signs, which is required by law, you will see that it state Speed change ahead and then the 35 mph speed limit. Get a life. Drive the speed limit and you won't have to worry about a ticket. And if you drive over the speed limit we don't want you in Prescott Valley either.
