Greenspring Avenue near Quarry

Pikesville, MarylandAug 21, 20052 Comments

Once in a while driving down Greenspring Avenue towards the city by the old quarry, there is a Baltimore County Police officer sitting at the entrance waiting to capture peoples speeds coming over the hill. The cop was shooting instant on last time I drove by around 1AM. I have also seen a pretty big speed trap set up with 4-5 cops and 3 cars pulled over just down the street at the other entrance.

Comments:
This speed trap is now a regular occurrence around10-12 noon. Typically 1-3 police cars are lined up back to back on the grassy area before the entrance to the quarry coming down from 695. It seems like the officers indescriminitely pull over cars sometimes as many as 3-4 at a time. It baffles me how they can clock so many cars going 55 miles in a 35 mile zone. There isn't really time to accelerate to that speed even if one wanted to. It seems like they just want to collect revenue from the upper -middle class law -abiding citizens that live there, who like me probably never received a speeding ticket in their life. ( over 30 years of driving)

Seen multiple police traps at this location. Multi car as you go towards the city down the hill. Cars parked on side near Quarry entrance. Also, going away from city observed officer operate instant on radar gun. Thanks to my detector slowed down. Always county police.
