Greenwood Road
Crossing over Route 24 into and out of Madison. Everyone exceeds the posted 25 mph limit as they head over the highway, especially since there is a hill on either side. The police sit parked at the side of the road, facing in the opposite direction, so you think you’re safe until they make a flying u-turn with lights and sirens blaring in this residential area. The stop takes a very long time as they try out their new computer system in the car and they will get you for anything over 25 although they favor whatever generates the maximum number of points (for which New Jersey will charge you a surcharge of $100 each year for several years after you receive the ticket). Sometimes they have two police cars working at once — there isn’t much else for them to do in Madison.
