Highway 203 at the south entrance to Carnation
There is often a police car on the west side of hwy 203 just north of the Tolt River Bridge as you enter Carnation from the south. There is a little league ball field on the left (west) with two driveways. The cruiser sits in one of the driveways. This is also the begining of a school zone. Speed limits in Carnation are strictly enforced!

The consistent commitment of police manpower to this speed trap is particularly galling to residents of this area in view of recent cuts in our police protection (from actual criminals that is, not from your grandmother who is 3 mph over the speed limit) after one finds, as I have, that police response times to calls regarding real crimes can exceed one hour. For many the moral of the story is that if you have a problem with anybody attempting to make a victim out of you, you'd best be able to handle it yourself, because you certainly can't expect help from the police. They are too busy trying to meet their ticket quotas, er, sorry "objectives." I forgot, there are no quotas for tickets anymore . . .
If more people got angrier about this kind of abuse it would have a bigger impact.
