I got a ticket in millen ga headed south on 25. Its 4 lane hwy with a large grass median and the speed limit was 55. I came over a hill and noticed a police officer on the right shoulder stopped talking to a man in a truck. I looked at my speed and I was doing 60. There was another car to the right and a few car lenths ahead. The officer pulled out with his lights on and run up on the car that was in the right lane. I did not slow down because I thought the speed limit was 55. He then goes around that car and pulls me into a gas station. First thing he ask is where is your friend I noticed he had a sc tag also. I told him i didnt know the guy then he continues to ask if I knew how fast I was going I said 60. He said well I got you at 70 in a 45 I was not. But that makes it over 20 mph over the speed limit and I found out 20 is a super speeder ticket in ga. Asked how much the fine was he said I would have to go online to find out. Well the next day my vacation was ruined for sure $750.00 plus $50 court cost. Plus 6 points on my liscence. These guys have a good racket going. I called to see about pleading not guilty and they said I would have to come there and be booked into their jail because I was from out of town. So I just sent the money. Too far to drive for me. So I would stay far away from this town if possible.
