As you are traveling westbound on highway 4 from Martinez going uphill the road finally starts to go down hill for the first time. On that down hill section there is a CHP officer hiding behind the "Mc Ewen Rd" off ramp sign. The sign is held up by a large pole about 4ft in diameter. He parks his bike so that the only thing the victim might see is his left rear view mirror and radar unit at the left rear of the BMW patrol motorcycle.

As I was approaching about 1 mile away my 8500 radar detector went off on Ka band showing a freq of 34 GHZ. I look very hard to see where it was comming from and could’nt. A 1986 Mustand with four teens it went by me at 80 plus. The warning was still on solid but nothing in sight. Then when the kids past the Mc Ewin off ramp sign which is right at the gore point for the off ramp I saw the CHP officer take off after them.

I see him there around mid day and this started happening in february 2003. I have taken a good look at him and the hiding place it is a good one and without radar or prior knowledge your dead.
