Highway 7 North detour just east of Hwy. 7 on Hwy. 58

Radar was used by the police in a location where there are many possible sources of interference including overhead power lines and transformers on both sides of the road and where there is a nearby lumber-treatment plant that uses walkie-talkies frequently as trucks with CB radio transmitters come and go.

The radar had me going 20 MPH faster than I actually was. In traffic court the Judge did not accept my questioning of the reliability of the radar, its location or its operation even though possible causes of false readings are clearly stated in the Police Dept’s operator manual from the manufacturer for the radar that was used.

My fine was doubled because, I was told, it was in a construction zone. Not only are there no signs to that effect, but the posted speed limit there of 35 MPH is the same that it is all over town. I never had thought that the ‘legal’ system would take (steal) money from me, but now I know that it will and without any feeling for the defendant. In Traffic Court you are guilty unless you can prove your innocence. Criminal Court is more fair where the defendant is innocent until proven guilty.
