Highway US 81 traveling into City of Waukomis
Driving to Enid for the 1st time, the speed limit was 65. Speed drops from 65 to 45 within 1/2 mile span. As soon as I saw the 45 MPH posting, I saw the Cop car sitting in the middle of the grass between the 4 lanes of highway. I saw his lights & knew it was for me (going 64 MPH) and pulled over. He gave me a $260 ticket. I asked if the HWY stays at 45 the rest of the way into town. No, he replied, You’re already back in the 65 MPH zone. Everyone in the car was floored! I’ve never experienced such a small pocket where the MHP drops by 20, then immediately goes back up to 65.
