North Hillsborough Street (15-501) in Pittsboro between the town center and the US64 bypass has been heavily patrolled for years. The 35 mph limit near the town feels unnaturally slow and requires constant attention to stick to. I was caught accelerating out of a store before I had a chance to notice I was going quite fast and needed to slow down. The Pittsboro Police patrol car was at the north end of the parking lot of the defunct Chevy dealership just north of town — but I have seen them at other places too. Time was early afternoon, early August 2009.
