If it's a non trained police force then how can they operate?

rock island is not even a town. it's a big shame that no one in the goverments even checks to see if they are a legal town. a last nights town hall meeting more laws were past to create even more tickets -revnue. we need some help to stop the council before some gets hurt from their activites.

You have no idea what you are talking about! Rock Island is a member of OML and OMAG. Don't hate because the town has police and you have to obey the law now.

It's NOT a speed trap at all, and you people that say it's not even a town are UN-informed, The State would have come in and shut down all activity and the Police Department would not have been able to be established without the proper paperwork being filed. You need to take that energy you are wasting on bogus claims and do something worth while with it. Maybe do something to help Rock Island instead of trying to embarrass the people of Rock Island with your ramblings...

RockIsland is an incorperated town. The "speed trap" is bad enough but the abusive young police department sits at the intersection of Hwy 112 and 120 next to the store. They wait for someone to leave "ww" which is a Pizza Parlor and Bar. They will stop the driver in the hope that they will fail the sobriety check. They usually have no justified reason for the traffic stop. After living in this Town for over 25 years, I have never seen shuch abuse of power. Well, maybe from the Pocola, OK police force many years ago. But they have cleaned up their act. I am hoping that the surrounding police forces will take the RoakIsland Storm Troopers under their wing and teach the proper way to conduct business. Of course, we first must get rid of the corrupt Town Council Members.

The rock Island Police is doing their job in a professional manor. The chief is a good man and helps everyone in town and has compassion, If you don' like the police stopping you then don't attract their attention. There is not problems with the bar that I know of. and if they stop someone and the are DUI then it's their bad for drinking and driving. The crime rate has gone down 90% in town and the people want Police! The only ones that don't want police are the ones that are hiding something. the Police do not tell anyone how to live their life or what to do on their land. the Police are there to protect the residents . If you don't like it the take your ass and move out of town.
