Speed drops from fortyfive to 30 in an area that is in front of the fire house. They sit 4 or 5 officers and 2cycles unmanned, so as to deal with the high volume of people they catch (about 3 per 5 minutes!) Many are caught coming out of the mall area lot, and enter the street without seeing any sign posted!) The point seems to be, WHERE they clock you as speeding. The gun is pointed OUT at the cars as they slow, then a cop walks out and waves you over out of sight, and the trap continues. The funny thing is, there are apartments at the 45 mph area, and an old home that seems to be abandoned and tattered is the only home in the 35 mph strip. Kissimmee has been hurt by 9-11 and many people say that this may have a point in the over aggresive manner tickets are issued. There are ligitimate areas as well. Such as school zones. School safety is important, but they hide behind safety rhetoric to hide revenue. They ticket people going 5 to 7 miles an hour JUST BEFORE they enter the school zone (20 mph) Even tho school may be in and there is no traffic at the school BUT the police pulling over people. Many of the school zones in Kissimmee are main artery streets, and single lane as well, so all it would take is a truck ahead of you, blocking the blinking school zone sign from immediate view and HE and YOU will be flagged over, without ANY flashing flashing lights by the cops. They walk out and flag you over. And as usual, there will be 3 or 4 so as to pull over the multiple people pulled over. Typically, in Kissimmee, the police will pull over multiple people in obviously questionable areas.
