With construction underway of a nearby road, many drivers have detoured to Huron River Dr. to reach downtown Ann Arbor. Not one to lose a revenue opportunity, Ann Arbor police have set up speed trap shop shortly after Huron River Dr. enters the city limits. Usually two cars are used, one a black Crown Vic, nearly invisible at dawn, hiding in the bushes, the other cruiser painted white. Take a look at the pavement near where the speed trap cars sit, multiple strips of tire rubber burned into the road – they really take care of the taxpayers’ resources. Be aware, when you’re driving in Ann Arbor, consider the entire city a speed trap.
