Elgin PD travels up and down 209, E and W, after dark when traffic is low and zaps you. When they pull you over they will give you a ticket (In most all cases).

Daylight hours present the same speedtraps and aggressive ticket writing by Elgin PD as after dark. It generates revenue from out of towners who don't have the time to drive back to Elgin to fight the questionable speeds the police claim you were driving. They write anything and everything and it doesn't matter if you are law enforcement.
If you are Law Enforcement you should be serving as an example of a law abiding citizen. You should not be speeding or violating any other laws, and if you think you should be able to badge your way out of a ticket then you should hand in your shield.

p.s. Original poster.....it's US Hwy 290, not 209. You don't even know what road you're on muchless the speed limit of how fast you were going. Stop staring at your hood ornament and put down your cell phone.
