Hwy 13 South

Mamou, LouisianaMar 07, 20103 Comments

The speed limit through Mamou on hwy 13 is 45 mph. In this 45 mph zone there is a intersection and on both sides of this intersection is a yellow 40 mph advisory sign. I thought advisory signs were not enforceable and the speed limit was really 45. I know of two people that were stopped there for going 46 and were told that the speed limit was 40, so they got a ticket for 46 in a 40. It cost one well over $200. This is pathetic that our so called police can take advantage of the public like this. This is truly a speed trap.

Comments:
Yeah, this is really pathetic. The odds of anyone passing through Mamou and getting a ticket are great. So driver's beware.

If the Police so call take advantage of the Public by inforcing the laws then why in the world does the Public always call on POLICE when something goes on in their life. Come on now this is why we have Traffic Laws. Actually to tell yall the truth these officers are out here to protect you from a individual who might be intoxicated driven at a high rate of speed, (GUESS PEOPLE DON"T THINK ABOUT THE GOOD THAT COMES OUT OF THIS). The public might talk bad of the Officer's but I know one thing I am glad that they are doing their job because they are actually protecting my family and myself from actually getting killed from a drunk driver, or just a speeder.... THink before you actually sit here and judge an Officer.

The speed limit is NOT a suggestion. And its POSTED therefore NOT a trap. Just pay attention...or a ticket.
