Hwy 285 between Poncha Springs & Buena Vista
The posted speed limit for this road is 60 with the intent of ticketing drivers who set their cruise at 70. Most of the time there are 2 State Patrolman patrolling the hwy, and with frequent turns and hills, they are hard to spot.

The identification of this area as a trap is just plain misleading. It is a high accident area and is targeted for enforcement, but its not a trap. The comment that there are two patrollman on it all the time is nonsense. The State Patrol does have two troopers on at the same time unless it is a high volume weekend such as 4th of July. The troop office for this district only has 7 troopers for highway 50, 285 and 24 to cover all shifts, days of the week and weekends. The sheriff's office usually only has 2 or 3 deputies on for an entire 1100 square mile county, this includes covering calls, county roads, unincorporated communities and back country. So you got a ticket....get over it.
