Hwy 285 south from Sante Fe to Clines Corner
Single car where speed limit drops from 65? to 45 mph. Cop shot us with Lidar (he told us) and then placed a radio call ahead about 1/4 mile to the car that pulled us over. Estimated about 10 police cars of all sorts – marked and unmarked- a HUGE speed trap.

The exit from Hwy 84 (70 mph limit) onto Hwy 285 (50 mph limit) is a long, gradual curve. As a result, drivers coming off that exit don't have to slow down that much. Also, when you merge onto 285, you have your own lane, so you don't have to worry about merging with traffic.
I was doing 65 when exiting Hwy 84 onto Hwy 285 yesterday (6/4/14). By the time I saw the 50 mph speed limit sign on Hwy 285, a patrol car, who was hiding behind the 55 mph sign, already had me tagged as a speeder.
Tagged for 65 mph in a 50 mph zone. Classic speed trap.
