Hwy 321 in Olar, SC

Speed limit in this area drops from 55 to 30 with little sign notice. I was pulled over after taken this alternate route when I-95 was shut down because of an accident. I immediately started to pull over when the police officer was pulliing out behind me. Directly in front of my car was a speed limit sign that said 45 mph. I was charged with going 40 in a 30 mph zone when I was only 15 feet from the 45 mph sign. Trap? I think so!

Comments:
Same thing happened to us last week. A nasty, undistinguished little town with nothing to offer and no reason for anyone to stop there and spend any money, so they just fleece people driving by. And as previously mentioned, nasty cop with an advanced case of donut poisoning. We never saw any 30 mph sign and we were watching for one, so suspect it was a lie. After all, who's gonna drive back and look? Even if you have to drive 100 miles out of your way, avoid this cesspool.

You have to be kidding me!!! I drive through this town daily and there are signs posted. It is so funny how when YOU are speeding and get caught it is a "speed trap". I am willing to bet the officer caught you on radar before he pulled you...15 feet from the speed limit sign. BTW...when I met this officer, he was very polite as was I to him.....he was doing his job. Grow up and take responsibility for speeding!!!
