Hwy 35 a couple of miles before and after city limits.

Very rural area, but 45 speed limit starts about 2 miles from town limit on both sides, then goes to 35 and finally 25 in the town proper. The one town cop, who must collect most of the town’s revenue this way, likes to park partially hidden in the woods in the 35 to 45 area. He’ll get you for five miles over the limit.

Comments:
Earlier comment is true. But neglects to say that if u are entering the highway after the speed limit sign (there is only one), u will be in a area with no buildings or signs of a town. and when/if you see the policeman vigorously enforcing the speed limit, they cannot seem to collect enough money to put up any speed limit signs. Anyone using their best judgement would take it to be a 45mph-55mph area. And when he pulls you it will be right in front of a 25mph sign. The officer has an orange cone sitting there at the curb to pull you up to to get you out of their mailman's way. I was lost. the "public servant" didnt even try to help me find the place in Boykins i was looking for. But he will write you a ticket quick. Oh, he'll tell you to get your speedometer calibrated to possibly help lower any points from his citation. He's a real peachy guy.
